Master Perfumer & Visionary
With over three decades of experience in haute perfumery, Jean-Pierre Lamar has created some of the world's most prestigious fragrances. After years of working behind the scenes for renowned houses, he established Lamar DeNon to express his personal vision: creating fragrances that transcend mere scent to become emotional journeys, balancing artisanal traditions with bold innovation.

The Problem I Couldn't Ignore

The Problem I Couldn't Ignore

Twenty years in luxury fragrance taught me something disturbing:

Every brief was the same. "Make it safe." "Make it broad." "Make it forgettable."

Meanwhile, the most interesting men I knew—my father, my brother,
the entrepreneurs and artists in my circle—had no fragrance worthy of them.

They were settling for mass-market mediocrity because no one was
creating anything for men who refuse to be ordinary.

So in 2020, I stopped waiting for someone else to fix it.

Lamar DeNon became my answer to a simple question:
What if exceptional men had exceptional fragrances?

The Journey

My journey into the world of perfumery began in in my moms perfume aresnal in Los Angeles, where, as a child, I found my self playing and concocting my own blends. It was there that I first discovered the transformative power of scent—how a single aroma could evoke emotions, memories, and transport one to different times and places.

As I learned more about fragrance and cosmetology, I learned under some of the greatest noses in the industry, where I learned to balance the precise science of fragrance composition with the intuitive artistry required to create something truly extraordinary. For over twenty years, I worked behind the scenes, creating signature scents for the world's most prestigious fragrance houses.

Yet I always dreamed of creating fragrances that were unconstrained by commercial demands—scents that could truly tell stories and evoke profound emotional experiences. In 2020, I decided to pursue this vision by founding Lamar DeNon, a house dedicated to perfumery as an art form in its own right.

Pivotal Moments

Throughout my journey in the world of perfumery, certain pivotal experiences have profoundly shaped my creative vision and approach. These defining moments continue to influence my work at Lamar DeNon.
Traveling The World & Discovering Rare Ingredients

Traveling The World & Discovering Rare Ingredients

In 1998, I embarked on a journey to Morocco that would fundamentally change my approach to ingredient sourcing. Deep in the Atlas Mountains, I discovered artisanal distilleries producing rose and jasmine oils using centuries-old techniques that preserved subtle aromatic nuances lost in modern production methods.
This experience taught me that true luxury in perfumery isn't about rarity alone, but about the story, tradition, and human connection behind each ingredient.
